Hotel Grano de Oro

The room and bed were comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Our room didn't have an outside window. We only discovered the sun terrace and jacuzzi tub when it was too late to use them. It's an interesting colonial building, well placed for walking into the city centre.

We’d be happy to come back. The restaurant was excellent, and every staff member, from the front desk to housekeeping, was ready to help. Our room was spacious and had the usual amenities, plus complimentary minibar snacks. There are two hot tubs and a workout room too.

The bed was so comfortable, the pillows were unbelievably cozy, and the shower pressure was great. We also felt warmly welcomed throughout our stay. The staff, food, and room were all amazing, and Kenneth deserves a special thank you for the delicious cocktails and wonderful hospitality. Everyone was so kind. I’d give this place 1,000 stars if I could.

We’ve been waking up rested and without back pain, which is unusual for me at a hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless, and everything seems very well maintained. This is a private Victorian house turned into a hotel, with carefully chosen furniture and wall details, plus common areas filled with beautifully arranged plants. Since we’re here for Christmas, we’ve also enjoyed the lovely decorations and stockings on every door. There’s a spa upstairs with hot tubs, chaise longues, and fitness equipment. The fridge has free drinks, there’s a Nespresso-style machine with excellent Britt coffee, and the hotel also offers laundry service, 24-hour reception, and free parking. It’s a rare mix of comfort, warmth, elegance, and amenities in Costa Rica.
