Finca Luna Nueva Lodge

The pool and hot tub were tucked into a peaceful spot, and we had fun on the trails. We saw sloths, lovely frogs, and plenty of birds and butterflies. One small struggle: the holey bricks on the paths are awkward to walk on, since only half your foot fits on a brick at a time. The staff were friendly, and the cocoa tour was a treat. The food was truly amazing, with lots of fresh, local variety, plus so many vegan and vegetarian choices. Such an incredible eco-lodge.

Breakfast was a different selection of typical Costa Rican food from the farm each morning, and all the food was delicious. The grounds are beautiful for a walk, with lovely trails and plenty to see. It’s a rustic farm-to-table place with an eco feel, and a great choice for a family vacation. We liked the smaller property and the friendly staff. They answered all our questions and helped us out when we had rental car trouble one day. The service and atmosphere made for an amazing vacation at Finca Luna Nueva lodge. It’s only a short 30 min drive to La fortuna, where there’s more to do. Thanks to Melina at the front desk reception for all her help.

Casa Barro was our room for two nights, and it was cozy with a sophisticated design. The shared spaces had the same thoughtful feel, from the restaurant and facilities to the pools, spa, yoga pavillion, and trails around the property. We also had a great Night Walk around the lodge with Francisco, which was a memorable experience. The whole concept and atmosphere are wonderful. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all had great options, including lots of vegan and vegetarian food. Finca Luna Nueva is a gem. We found the stay simply perfect and would recommend it if you want an experience to remember.

I planned to propose to my girlfriend there in January, and Finca Luna Nueva completely lived up to my expectations. The staff kindly helped with parts of the surprise, and I did it in the beautiful bird watching tower. What a dream of a place! The casitas were gorgeous and spacious, and the grounds were full of incredible plants and wildlife. The bar/restaurant area looked beautiful, and the food and drinks were great. We only had time for the farm tour, but it was super informative and I highly recommend it. There’s so much to do there and nearby that I could easily stay a week or longer without running out of things. It’s easy to get to La Fortuna by car. I wish I were back there right now.
