The forest setting is what makes this place special. Though it's in the city center, the outdoor lounge and breakfast spots feel tucked into the rainforest, with exotic birds and small animals around. Inside, the decor is understated, with classic wooden floors, and the staff are always cheerful. The breakfast is fantastic, too. By European standards, I'd call it a two- or three-star hotel at most. It's not trying to be luxurious: there’s no air conditioning or refrigerator in the room, and the TV may only get Spanish channels, if it works at all. The rooms are spotlessly clean, though.
