Good enough for a safe place to sleep in the center. The room was clean, and the filter coffee was fine. Breakfast was average. There was a strange smell in the room, and the toilet had a flushing problem with a water leak, which was a bit disruptive. Thanks for keeping in touch about the toiletry bag I forgot.

We’ll be back at Hotel Balmoral. This was our second stay, and the staff were especially helpful when my husband became very ill. The hotel is on a pedestrian-only street, which was fun and convenient since I needed to walk to different stores. The food was good, the service exceptional, and the location ideal for experiencing the CR cultural. Thank you!

Staff were excellent, and when we reported a small electrical issue, they fixed it within 10 minutes. We couldn't have asked for a better room. It's a wonderful, economical hotel for its category, with a nice restaurant attached, free breakfast, and excellent food. Waiter William was particularly responsive. The one drawback is that the location isn't considered very safe after about 9:00 pm. We had no issues, though, and would definitely stay again.

The room was very clean, with a nice sitting area and a large window that let in a breeze. We had a lovely stay at Hotel Balmoral. The location was perfect, the restaurant was tasty, and we loved the included breakfast. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating!

The cafe and restaurant were decent, though sometimes quite busy, and the hotel is well placed for visiting the main tourist attractions. I stayed at both the beginning and end of my time in Costa Rica. The first room was quite dated, while the one at the end was much better quality. Getting airport transfers sorted before the trip was a nightmare. They didn't reply despite several follow-ups, then finally answered in Spanish. The taxi booked for airport pickup never arrived. When I asked about the return transport we'd booked, they didn't seem to know anything about it. Admin really isn't their forte.
