The outside doesn't make a great impression, but once you're in, the staff are very welcoming. Our room was a good size, the beds were comfortable, and we had a hot shower. At this price, we didn't find many of those in Costa Rica. Breakfast was simple but plentiful, as is typical of hotels in Costa Rica.

The service was excellent, and the hotel is very well located beside the pedestrian part of downtown. We were happy with our room, and the hotel was very clean. There's no elevator, though it's only three floors. The pool had a kind of funny smell, so we didn't swim.

The free breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and really helpful. Justin and Sebastian at the front desk both spoke good English. Our flight was delayed and we arrived a day late, but they picked up the phone quickly and moved our reservation without any hassle. The room was comfortable, the fan kept it cool at night, and the shower had plenty of hot water. The pool seemed mostly decorative. You can stop right outside for 15 minutes while they point you to the parking garage.

For the price, this was a decent hotel, with good service, a good breakfast, and a convenient location. The main problems were a fire alarm in our room beeping in the middle of the night and ants on one of the beds. Still, it was a fine place to stay.

The ceiling fan fell right out of the ceiling by itself last night. It had been attached to drywall instead of the beams, so it clearly wasn't secured properly. Management offered only a 50% refund and had no more to say when I told them how badly I could have been hurt if it had hit me. I said I'd complain to booking.com and leave negative reviews wherever I could, and they didn't seem to care. Do not stay here.
