Cocobolo Beach Boutique Hotel

I only came in for breakfast, not to stay. After eating, I waited for the salads they start serving at 11 while working on my schoolwork. The restaurant was nearly empty, but staff asked me to leave. I don’t drink tea or coffee, and the breakfast choices were limited. I usually spend up to $40 at another place that’s closed on Wednesdays, where I can work for a couple of hours and order lunch early. So I went up the street and ordered lunch instead. I’m not someone who camps out without ordering. They had little that appealed to me, then treated me as if I was taking up space for nothing. It felt rude and pretentious, as though travelers with money weren’t worth their time. I’d considered having my family of three stay there when they visit me, but I won’t set foot in the place again.

We popped in for a drink and a look at the view and the area. There’s a little boutique in the hotel, and the woman working there was charming and really helpful. She found me a dress I liked that was within my budget, and it’s versatile too. I haven’t had service that good in years. Can’t wait for warmer weather so I can wear it again.

The beach is something special, and we loved staying right beside it. Our room had a beautiful view of Sam Juanillo Beach. Breakfast was generous and the restaurant was good, though we also went exploring around the area, with its many families and places to see. The hot showers were great. We couldn’t work out how to set the noisy mini split to low. We’d go back.

We had a great four days here, especially thanks to the staff. Everyone was welcoming, kind, helpful, and fun to spend time with. Isaac deserves a special mention for making us feel at home. We also loved the beach and spent a couple of hours snorkeling on an outing with Captain Jose, which I’d definitely recommend making time for. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well kept. The breakfasts were great, and the fish was fresh and delicious. Javier makes excellent drinks. We’ll be back!
