El Rodeo Estancia Boutique Hotel & Steakhouse

The grounds are pleasant, the security staff are very friendly, and we enjoyed using the gym. We were there for only one night and had to leave too early to try the complimentary breakfast. The room could have been lovely, but there were still large streaks of feces in the toilet and quite a bit of hair in the shower drain when we arrived. It had clearly been cleaned, but those things were missed. The Wi-Fi was nearly unusable, so we couldn’t watch TV or stream on a laptop. I’d recommend the place, especially if the rooms were cleaned more thoroughly.

The steakhouse was awful. My tomahawk was ordered medium but arrived raw inside, redder than my friend's filet mignon, which she’d ordered rare. Since it had been cooked so briefly, the fat hadn’t melted into the meat and came in big chunks. I’d ordered a huge cut for myself but found only a few edible bites. I told the waiter, but he did nothing, and I left hungry after paying full price. We skipped the second visit we’d planned and won’t return. The rooms themselves were really nice and comfortable, though a kettle would be useful since the coffee vending machine is locked at night. There was a wedding while we stayed, and nobody told us. Guests kept slamming doors all night and we couldn’t sleep. It wasn’t really the hotel’s fault, but if we’d known about the wedding, we might have stayed somewhere else. I’d give the rooms alone four stars.

I had lunch here and was pleased with the attentive, professional service. Everything tasted great, and the steaks were good quality and cooked just right.

A good-value alternative to the airport chain hotels, with breakfast included and a Steakhouse next door. There’s a pool, game lounge, comfortable terraces, and attractive gardens. Service was friendly, and the location is handy for gas, rental car return, and nearby shops.
