Carlos made my three days so easy by arranging transportation and tours. I feel lucky he let me stay in his home, which has everything from kitchen appliances and a computer to a washing machine. He was away on a tour that week, so we never met, but he’s one of the most genuine, caring people I’ve known. We’re still in touch, and we spoke on the phone again tonight.

A great base for visiting the mountain. The house is lovely and very eco-friendly, and Carlos was great, he even drove us around.

We were fortunate to get a few nights here. The beds are comfortable, the internet works well, and there was even a little welcome gift. Just keep in mind that restaurants and the supermarket are quite a distance away, so you really need a car.

We were tired and desperate for a bed when we realized we’d put the wrong dates on our Booking.com reservation for Casa Copalchi. The owners were already full and couldn’t fit us in, but they were so understanding and made several calls until they found us somewhere to stay that night within our limited budget. We’re really grateful for their kindness and hope we can stay with them another time.

The room was spotless and had the comforts of a kitchen, so we felt at home even on the other side of the world. Carlos and his wife were so attentive, too, helping us figure out tours in the area when we didn’t really know where to start. A room in the home of lovely people. 100% recommended.
