Hotel Roca Verde

I left my water bottle in the shuttle, and Roca Verde brought it to my hotel on their next trip a couple of days later. They were considerate from start to finish. We’d booked late in the evening for an 8am pickup from Monteverde to Samara, but they still arrived right on time and kept us updated. Our driver was fantastic and offered a stop for refreshments and the toilets. Seamless and easy service. Thank you, I highly recommend them.

This was the worst Airbnb and host experience I’ve had. We booked a week and a half before our flight to CR, then the host messaged asking me to cancel from my end. It seemed they had poor management and had overbooked the place. I refused and said they should cancel it. I opened a case with Airbnb, and even they struggled to reach the host. The host eventually contacted me through WhatsApp because they didn’t want to communicate through Airbnb. I’d never recommend this place. I’d suggest they change management companies, because the current one lacks customer service.

We booked this shuttle through our hostel, but now I’d book directly with another company. The driver was late for pickup, which was fine at first. Then we made several pickups, with him driving on, turning around, and doubling back without explaining the delay. He spoke no English, and made unexplained stops by the road while speaking only Spanish, so nobody in the shuttle knew what was happening. He texted while driving on winding roads, went past people over a solid yellow line with oncoming traffic, and drove way too fast. I understand we were tourists in a Spanish-speaking country, but having a driver with no basic English skills driving a group of tourists was concerning...

The front desk staff were excellent, and the service deserves five stars. Breakfast was really nice, too.
