Getting around was the hard part for me. Outsite Maramar sits about a 10-minute walk up a steep jungle hill with no stairs, and you may want to budget $50-70 a day for an ATV. I’m athletic, but after a few trips I was planning my day around the climb, and walking it in the daytime left me dripping with sweat. Josefina, the Community Manager, was my favorite part of Maramar. She was warm and welcoming from day one, incredibly responsive, and has a real gift for making everyone feel at home. The house has ocean views from every room, with magical sunrises and sunsets. Rooms are spacious, each with air conditioning and a desk, and there’s an enclosed coworking space beside the kitchen that’s also air conditioned. It’s a relaxed place for quiet time surrounded by wildlife, or you can head to Outsite Playa to meet people. Definitely book this location!

I stayed at Maramar and the Playa location, and each has its own advantages. Maramar is definitely the more beautiful one, with spectacular views from every level and a setting immersed in nature. The drive up is steep, but after a few ATV trips it feels comfortable. If you care more about the view and surroundings than being able to walk everywhere, I’d recommend it completely. It’s hard to want to leave.

The hill climb was worth it for the view, and the house was stylish and very modern. I loved the open-air kitchen and living area, and the strong AC in my room was much appreciated. Annie, our house manager, helped book several tours, arrange cabs, and get me into my room early. My stay at Maramar was everything I hoped for and more. Looking forward to coming back to Outsite!

The people I met here were great, and the atmosphere was so calming I could have stayed forever. This is one of the most beautiful Outsites I’ve visited. It’s at the top of a very steep hill, but the breathtaking view makes it worthwhile. For a peaceful, zen kind of stay, choose this location. If you want to socialize and be close to everything, Playa is a better fit. Either way, you can’t go wrong :)

The best part was meeting the other people in the house. Everyone was easy to connect with and fun to spend time with, and we enjoyed cooking and exploring together. My partner and I stayed just under three weeks at Outsite Santa Teresa in January, and had a fantastic experience. The house was clean, comfortable, and equipped for sleeping, eating, and working. Korneel went out of his way to help with taxis, tours, and recommendations for food and activities. We’d recommend it to anyone.
