The staff are lovely, the place feels relaxed and close to nature, and the food is incredible. I liked it so much I had the Fish Casado twice in one day. They suggested adding shrimp on the side, and that blew my mind. I love this spot. It’s honestly one of the most underrated places in Santa Teresa. Go check it out!

This wasn’t our first visit to Hotel Tropico, and every time has been incredible. The rooms are clean, the service is great, and the central location puts you close to everything. The staff really make you feel looked after. On this trip, another nearby hotel let us down during a really important visit, and Hotel Tropico stepped in and saved our week. They found us a room that same day and were kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout. We highly recommend it for a special celebration or just a fun, easy vacation. We’ll absolutely be back.

The restaurant was excellent, and everyone on staff took great care of us. The team was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially Anthony at the front desk, who welcomed us and helped from start to finish. Hotel Tropico even helped save the surprise proposal for my now fiancée. Highly recommend.

I was really disappointed with the restaurant just now. They said they were spraying OFF to “control the environment,” but the strong smell and taste of insect repellent ended up in my mouth while I was eating. After 20 days of cooking at home in Costa Rica, I wanted to treat myself to one good meal before leaving. This wasn’t what I’d hoped for. I felt bad for the environment too, especially given what I paid. I wouldn’t do it again.
