Point Break Santa Teresa

I was only there for my first night in Santa Teresa, so I don’t have much to go on. It was the best dorm room of my time in CR, though the bunks could use privacy curtains. I didn’t use the kitchen. The main road was too close for me, and the loud motos and ATVs made it hard to sleep, so I stayed just one night.

The room had no balcony light, and the shower curtains were broken. After eight exhausting hours on rough roads, we were too tired to leave, but the lack of care and basic guest service was shocking. Our “private room with balcony” faced such a noisy street that relaxing or sleeping was impossible. When we asked for a garden-facing room, there were plenty available, but they wanted $20 more for the exact same type of room. It felt like our comfort mattered less than getting a few extra dollars. A terrible experience, especially for couples. Avoid if you can.

The room was clean, the facilities were good, and the location worked well for us. We got a free upgrade, which was really kind of the staff. The pillows weren't comfortable, though. We didn't hear much road noise, but a room facing the road might be noisy. I'd still stay at Point Break again.

Our dorm even had a balcony, and the shelves were a nice extra. It was super clean, close to the beach for surfing and sunsets, and near plenty of yoga studios. The staff were lovely and always ready to help. I really enjoyed staying here and would happily come back.
