Casa Mapache B&B

The grounds are lovely and peaceful, yet several towns and beaches are close enough. We spent five nights at Casa Mapache and had a wonderful time. Watching monkeys bounce around in the mango trees above the pool made it a special stay. The owners were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home.

There are two very cute little pups at the property, too. The location worked well with our own car, away from the town's hustle and bustle. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed. Dominic was warm and friendly, going out of his way to help with our late check-in and the extra things we needed.

Casa Mapache is a little paradise, run by people who are friendly and helpful. It’s a great base for exploring the beaches and towns of NW Costa Rica. We only wished we’d booked one more night, so we could spend a whole day lounging on the porch and in the pool. A real gem!

The pool is big and really nice, and waking up to homemade bread and jam was great. Stephanie and her family were the best hosts. The rooms were wonderful and the grounds very clean. This was hands-down our favorite place in Costa Rica, and I’d recommend it 100 percent if you get the chance. It can be a little hard to find, but there’s a sign on the outside wall, and Stephanie gives great directions. We absolutely loved staying here.
