Tamarindo Bay Hotel & Apartments- Self Check In, Adults Only

We loved our six-night honeymoon at Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel and would happily come back. The grounds were beautifully cared for, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s easy to walk to everything in Tamarindo, yet the hotel sits far enough from the main strip to feel private and peaceful. There’s a quicker way out to the main street through the back door, too. A lovely fit for couples looking for some quiet.

Marie was especially kind and helpful, and did what she could to answer questions and accommodate requests. We had a balcony where we enjoyed our own breakfasts and tea, and the room came with an electric stove, microwave, kettle, and coffee filter machine. The bed was comfortable, and we had a great stay. The hotel is close to shops, restaurants, nightclubs, late-night bars, food courts, a gym, and the beach, about a five-minute walk away. Two nearby grocery stores are a bit pricey, so it’s worth looking for deals, but we picked up things like eggs and fresh baguettes to make breakfast and sandwiches. The gym is a couple minutes away, with day passes for $10 USD or a weekly pass for around $30-40 USD at Gym Energy Fitness. We used Tamarindo Transfers and Tours (TTT) to get to and from Liberia Airport. They were reliable, reasonably priced, and among the cheapest options we found. The two small pools and seating areas were nice. The guests seemed to be mostly adult couples, and everyone was discreet.

Marie made our stay especially easy. She was so attentive I wondered if she owned the place. She was quick to respond, suggested restaurants, arranged rides, and was flexible about checkout. We spent six nights here and found it incredibly restful. The room was clean and roomy, with finishes that were kept in excellent condition. The kitchenette had enough for simple breakfasts and lunches. Poolside was well maintained and had a spa-like feel. We could walk to the beach in five minutes, then spend the day relaxing by the pool away from the busy beach town. One of our most relaxing vacations. We’re definitely coming back next year.

I loved unwinding by both pools, especially the one with the peaceful waterfall and all the greenery around it. The daybed by the other pool was lovely, too, with relaxing zen music in the comfortable rancho. The property was immaculate and beautifully designed, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. I even got to share the grounds with a beautiful Iguana and a chirpy woodpecker who had made their home there. Such a relaxing stay, and I’ll definitely return. It really feels like a little slice of paradise.
