Tamarindo Blue Apartments

We spent a month here working online, and the wifi was great. We surfed every morning, and the apartment is in a really convenient spot for getting around on foot. I think it’s the best value in tamarindo. There are a lot of angry comments about this place, and I don’t think they’re deserved. That’s why I wanted to add my experience.

We barely spent any time in the apartment, but it was clean and in a great location. I tried the pool once after a long day, and it was really relaxing.

The patio was pleasant, and the pool was great and rarely busy. Laundry was picked up by housekeeping and returned within 24 hours. The coded entry made the property feel secure, and the staff were friendly. I had no issues with management or my reservation. I stayed for a month in June of 2023 after booking several months ahead, and got a great deal. It worked well for a solo traveler. Upstairs there were two beds, a full bathroom with walk-in shower, a remote-controlled cooling unit, a fan, and a wall safe. Downstairs had a half bath, small living room, and kitchen with pots and dishes, a four-burner gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, and a nice refrigerator. My only complaints were the downstairs couch, which could convert to a bed but had an uncomfortable metal bar, and the lack of an armchair where I could read or work on my laptop comfortably. It was about a five-minute walk to the main street and seven minutes to the ocean.

I booked an apartment a month ahead, but then got a notice saying the reservation couldn’t be accepted because my card wasn’t valid. I checked with the bank and there was no problem, but my booking was still cancelled. I wrote to the owner and never got a reply. Other owners in CR have been helpful and attentive, so this wasn’t what I expected.
