Barcelo Tambor All Inclusive

The drive to Tambor is part of the experience, winding through dense green forest before opening up to a breathtaking beach. The grounds feel like a tropical paradise, with lush plants and trees, plus plenty of wildlife, including different birds, iguanas, and monkeys. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful, from check-in through the restaurants and right up to our departure. I came away with lots of great memories and hope to return to this beautiful part of the world.

After four visits, this was sadly our last. The live show was too loud, and the food didn’t impress me. They used to have dancers and better entertainment, but the resort seems to be going downhill. We didn’t feel the whole day was worth what we paid. The owner should put some money into improving the place.

The evening shows used to have dancers, a band, and comedy. Now it’s one guy on his own shouting into a microphone for two hours, enough to give you a headache. The buffet repeats the same food, and the quality has gone downhill. Definitely not what it used to be. Consider other options.

It’s an older all-inclusive resort with a good location for heading out on excursions. The restaurants serve good quality food, though the snack bar could be better. Some drinks were weak, so after the first couple I asked for double alcohol and they were happy to make them that way. There’s a really good parrot rescue area, and wild parrots are around everywhere. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s a good choice.
