The rooms are simple but nice, and the food was fresh and good, even if basic. Alexis, a friendly guide who works for the hotel, knows a lot about the flora in the Natl Park and is great at spotting animals to show guests.

We were on a tui tour and hadn't chosen this hotel ourselves. The whole group of 11 had a terrible stay, and all five couples got unacceptable rooms. The dirty soap was taken away but never replaced, so we had to go to a shop to buy some. The towels were dirty too, and the bed board had to be removed because it moved and could hit us in the head. We found a cockroach under the sink. There was no air conditioning, and the fan was dirty. Instead of windows there was just netting and dirty curtains. The food was very basic, with too few options, and the restaurant felt unhygienic. Staff left the "hotel" for the night, so nobody was around. We were traumatized by the stay. We won't come back.

You can only get to this remote hotel by boat. The rooms were clean, though a bit dated, and there was no AC or internet in them. WiFi was available in the lobby, bar, and restaurant. We had local food at the restaurant, nicely prepared.

The food was great, the rooms were nice, and the staff were friendly. I liked that WiFi was only available in certain spots instead of everywhere. It helped our group spend time with each other instead of being on social media. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

A peaceful spot in the jungle beside the river in Tortuguero, though it is quite isolated. The place was hygienic, we enjoyed the lovely food, and the swimming pool too. WiFi is only available at reception, and it's a great base for daily excursions.
