Valverde Glamping & Ecolodge

The garden was a lovely part of the stay, with birds and Chichaks around, and the pool was great. I was there for two nights with my dad during Costa Rica's low season, so we were the hotel's only guests. Andres still did everything he could to make it a good visit and shared a lot about the surrounding area. The rooms are basic but fine. The running water can be a little tricky at times, but given the location, I could accept that. It adds to the experience. Really appreciated Andres's help.

We spent four nights here on our family's first trip to Costa Rica, and it turned out even better than we'd expected. There was plenty of wildlife around, including howler monkeys, iguanas, and toucans. The standard rooms with two beds suited us perfectly, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. Everyone was friendly from the moment we arrived by boat and were offered drinks. Special thanks to Andres, who took care of just about everything, including organizing some complicated trips involving water taxis and cars. We'd happily stay here again.

The property was gorgeous, with a beautiful, clean room and a spot right on the water. Getting to the village means taking a water taxi. I loved sitting in the large restaurant area while the rain came down all around us. I'd definitely come back.

There's a lot to do here, and we tried all the day and night river cruises and walking tours. None disappointed, and there was so much wildlife to see. Getting to Tortuguero is part of the experience: there are no cars, so you leave yours in a secure car park at La Pavona, then take a boat with your luggage. We had a lovely room overlooking the river, though swimming in it isn't possible because of crocodiles and the occasional bull shark. What an amazing place.
