Ballena Paradise Apartments

The apartment looked just like the photos, the property itself is beautiful, and the pool was great. The staff were also kind and very apologetic. But we had a rough stay: nearly 10 cockroaches over four nights, stained sheets when we arrived, and stained towels. We slept on top of the sheets the first night. There's no hot water in the kitchen, which made dishes difficult, and the hotel wouldn't refund us after the first night so we could stay somewhere else.

Loved the saltwater pool and its lovely deck, and the park is very close by. A perfect place to stay.

We really enjoyed the stay. The place felt new, clean, and quiet, with a fabulous pool and great staff. It's a lovely little escape near a cute town and the national park. It's not right on the water, though you can get there quickly. I liked the pool so much I'm making my husband buold.me one just like it.

After an iffy hostel nearby, this brand new place that had just opened when I stayed in January felt like paradise. The apartments are beautiful, the cookware was new, and the air conditioning was a lovely break from the heat. Towels and linens were included. I usually had the little pool to myself. I did slip on the pool deck and fall down the stairs, badly bruising my already broken tailbone, so grip on the deck and stairs would help. The stove flames were huge, with the wrong flame heads. Neighbors played music and had dogs that could be annoying outside by the pool in the evenings, but I couldn't hear them inside my apartment. Restaurants, groceries, and National Park Beach were a ten minute walk away, and it felt like a great location. I felt safe traveling alone. The employees were helpful and did their best with limited English. One of the part-owners was friendly and suggested places to see nearby. Prices look higher now, but I'd definitely return if the price were right.
