The kind, warm staff made our week at Ballena Rey Hotel in Uvita especially lovely. We had our baby and 5-year-old with us, and everyone was genuinely caring and child-friendly. The breakfast and reception teams were always smiling, attentive, and sweet with the kids. Our spacious room was clean and comfortable, with a handy small kitchenette. The pool was clean and well maintained, and breakfast was delicious every morning. We'd definitely come back.

The location is close to the national Park, and we had great breakfast and very friendly staff with very good service. The appartmens were well equiped and the Pool was nice. Some rooms, for example Bed- or bathrooms, have no windows.

We only managed to book one night, which was a shame. The rooms are large, with separate bedroom and bathroom, and a spotless kitchen. The buffet breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly cooked eggs and bacon and the best gallo pinto we've had in Central America. The pool is big enough for a proper swim, and the location is great. Staff were wonderfully friendly.

After a few basic stays in Drake Bay and Corcovado, this little gem felt like a luxurious resort. The rooms were roomy, clean, and comfortable, and we really enjoyed being here. The kids loved the pool while hummingbirds zipped past, and we ate breakfast just a few meters away. Breakfast was simple, but the gallo pinto was among the tastiest we'd had on our 3.5 week trip in Costa Rica. Laundry was fast, cheap, and good, and the staff were super friendly. Ballena Rey is a really good value if you're nearby.

We had a very pleasant three-night stay at the Ballena Rey Hotel. The rooms and bungalows were clean and modern, and the pool was well maintained. The breakfast was good and plentiful, and the owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. We can wholeheartedly recommend it.
