The kitchen is outside, so you can watch the pretty birds while you cook, and it actually has good frying pans and utensils. There's lovely wildlife in the garden too. The hostel is close to the beach and has a really social feel without being noisy. They make the beds every day. I don't often write reviews, but the staff were so kind when my bag was stolen at the beach. They helped a lot, checked I was okay while I was panicking, and were so considerate. I highly recommend it.

I booked two nights and ended up staying five, and could easily have stayed longer. The hostel is really clean and has great facilities. Watching and listening to all the birds in the garden every morning was an incredible experience.

The grounds are lovely for watching birds, with an open layout and great chairs to relax in. The beds are roomy and comfortable, and the room has a sink and mirror plus a nice porch with a sliding door. It's clean, comfy, safe, and in a quiet area. Uvita/Ballena doesn't have much going on, but this is a good base for other activities. Highly recommend.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the porch attached to each room was a nice touch. I also loved the super fluffy pillows. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes to the supermarket. A security guard stays through the night until sunrise, which made me feel very safe, even though the area didn't strike me as dangerous. The main downsides are no AC and cold showers, though that's pretty standard for CR.

It's a small, really nice hostel with around six rooms. The kitchen and surrounding area are incredible, and the location is great for enjoying the beach. Each entrance to the beaches and parks is about a 15 minute walk, and there's a mini I super around five minutes away. The town's main drag and bus station are about a 20 minute walk. No AC, and the showers are iffy.
