Uvita Pirates Hostel

Tom and his son Nick were welcoming and friendly, and made the hostel feel homely. The private rooms have AC and private bathrooms, and guests can use a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer, oven, blender, and coffee machine. Uvita Pirates Hostel is an amazing deal, about an 8-minute walk from the beach and close to lots of activities. The incredible Uvita Catarata waterfall is reachable by taxi. We absolutely recommend it :)

A simple kitchen has everything you need, and the owner hangs out with guests. He's super cool, helpful, and easygoing. The ship design is cool, the bedrooms are nice and have AC, the beds are good, and there's hot water. It's a 5-minute walk to the beach. Best Hostal in Uvita! Come for an authentic experience in a beautiful, humble ship, not if you're expecting some fancy rich-person's place. I'll come here every time!

We'd only planned to visit Uvita for a day, but the beach, surroundings, and this little hostel convinced us to stay another night. Sara & Jose were very helpful with suggestions on where to go and eat, and even offered us rides to nearby places. The young couple hosting the place are inspiring, and their passion really shows. It's tiny, with minimalistic decor that feels homey. The bedroom and shower were very clean, and the sheets were soft. We told them we'd arrive a little late, and they had already turned on the AC, so our room was cool when we got in after a long, hot day. We'd definitely recommend it for couples traveling around Uvita. Hope they keep running it with the same warmth and friendliness 😊.

The beach is 300m away, though it's inside the national park and costs $6 a day to enter. Walk a little farther and you can reach the beach for free. Surf lessons can be arranged at the hostel. From the main bus stop, it's about a 45 min. walk. The place has a 'Pirates' style. Beds and shower were good, and there are chairs outside the rooms, plus seating and games in the shared area. The kitchen could be cleaner, though that also depends on other guests not tidying up after themselves. Nick, our host, struck me as a hippie surfer. He's friendly and likes chatting with guests. If you have a question or complaint, he'll try to answer or fix it right away. All in all, I'd definitely stay again.
