Islazul Royalton

Just off parque de cespedes in central bayamo, this older local hotel has a lovely, authentic feel and is quite beautiful. It’s picturesque and fun, with shops, lots of restaunts, the casa de cultura, and plenty more all within walking distance. It’s close to everything.

The room we had was quite small, even though the hotel looks nice. Breakfast wasn't for me either, just some fruit and dry bread.

A distinctive old hotel with a pleasant feel, and there's a little garden inside. Really nice atmosphere.

We were there for seven nights, and the staff made the biggest impression. Everyone, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant, bar, and security, kept smiling and treated us with genuine kindness, even with the situation in the country. We felt right at home. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with a great bed, spotless cleaning, and a balcony looking out over Céspedes Park. You could watch the city go about its day from there. The bathroom amenities also made the stay pleasant. The Royalton Bayamo is right across from the park, at the start of Bayamo's main boulevard. Meals were all well prepared, and the restaurant service was spectacular. We've stayed at many hotels in Cuba, but haven't felt this comfortable at any of them. We highly recommend it.
