Tryp Cayo Coco

Such a fun trip! Everyone was friendly. Edward and the DJs made the entertainment great, and Indy at the bar was especially sweet. The maids did an amazing job and were lovely, and the buffet cooks and servers were helpful too. The person at the morning donut station was super sweet.

The beach was beautiful, with clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and lots of room to relax. The pool areas were clean, the grounds were lush, and our room was comfortable with working air conditioning. Housekeeping kept it tidy throughout. What really made the stay memorable was the people. Everyone, from the front desk and housekeeping to the bartenders, was kind, welcoming, and patient. Cuba continues to face serious challenges from international sanctions, which affect food, supplies, and amenities that many travellers take for granted. Given that, the hotel does an admirable job keeping things running. Meals were simple but satisfying, and the staff worked hard despite circumstances outside their control. We’d happily return. Come with an open mind and you’ll find a great location, good value, and people who give their all. If you can, tip a dollar or two, it goes a long way. Canadians should use US $1 bills, since staff can’t exchange coins at Cuban banks. Staff may ask you to buy loonies and twonies in exchange for paper money, so bring a few $20 bills to buy the change and help them out.

We really enjoyed Tryp Cayo Coco, and we’ll be back soon. The team made us feel like special guests, and the animation staff kept us entertained. Our room was spacious and spotless. The beach and pools were excellent, and the cocktails were top-notch. The food was delicious, especially at the amazing à la carte restaurants. Thanks so much to the whole Cayo Coco team.

This was my third trip to Cuba and easily my favorite place so far. The beach and views are spectacular, but what really stands out is how the staff make you feel like family. Thanks to the restaurant team, especially Juan, Omanny, and William. Whenever we needed anything, they were right on it. We had a great time and made lovely memories. We’ll definitely be back.
