Iberostar Selection Ensenachos

We had a really relaxing winter trip from Canada through SunWing at Iberostar Selection Ensenacho. The lobby was spacious and luxurious, open to the outdoors on both the north and south sides, with comfortable sofas and tables and fresh drinks always available. The lobby bar staff were especially kind and professional. Danielly, the waitress who was always there to help, was so graceful and made us feel well looked after. The beaches, restaurants, pools, and evening events were all lovely, and the staff throughout the hotel were very kind and professional.

The beautiful beaches and gardens were a real plus, and the pool area was clean. The buffet staff were so friendly, too. It was my first time in Cuba, and given the situation there, supporting the people felt well worth it. Still, the rooms are dated and need some touch-ups, and we saw rats and cockroaches around the resort. Food quality was below par, so bring spices and hot sauce. There weren't many activities for my child, and most of the entertainment staff seemed to spend a lot of time on their phones. Only two of them were really good at getting activities going and bringing people in. The buses to the à la carte meals at the gallery resort were unreliable. At 11:30 at night, I was left waiting over 3 hours with two kids, then had to pay 15$ to get back to the resort.

The staff made the trip feel effortless and treated us like family, which was the highlight for me. The resort and its private beaches were extremely well maintained, and the food was amazing. I went with friends for my first trip to Cuba, escaping the Canadian winter, and it didn't disappoint. Thanks to Iberostar for making that first experience unforgettable. I'll definitely be back.

The people and beaches were great, and snorkeling was a blast: schools of fish, dozens of conch shells, sting rays, and barracudas. I also really appreciated the Canadian steak and shrimp dinner with a couple of guitarists playing. Thursday's event was great too, with a few hundred tourists, lobster and shrimp dinner, and a show.
