Valentin Perla Blanca

The team was a big plus, very helpful and friendly, and the entertainment crew put on a different show almost every night. The one open restaurant had a new menu nightly, which was nice. There weren't many vegetarian choices in either the restaurant or buffet. Kayaks weren't available, but small catamarans were. We stayed a week at Valentin Perla Blanca in mid-December. The resort is less busy than before COVID and has closed one side, which is now completely abandoned. Only one pool and one beach area were accessible, but with so few guests, there was more than enough room. We switched rooms because the first one didn't have the view we asked for. It was dirty and had mold in the bathroom. The second room was clean and updated. Some buildings are used less now and aren't being maintained as well. We had a good stay, but expected more. We understand COVID and the four-year closure had a big impact, but they should update the photos to show what's actually available to guests now, so people know what the resort is like. Some things didn't match the photos or description when we booked.

I've already stayed there twice in one year and enjoyed both visits. The beach is amazing, and the resort is really nice. The entertainment team puts on great shows every day, with a lot of effort from every member. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

The beach is beautiful, and as always, the staff were amazing. We travel to Cuba every year, visiting different areas and resorts, but our week at Valentin Perla Blanca in Santamaria Cuba was the first time we came away very disappointed. Food choices were limited, though what they did have was good. The resort needs major attention and basic upgrades. There were no lights along the pathways at night, so we had to use our phone lights to find our way back to the room. Room phones didn't work in two buildings, and getting clean room and beach towels was very difficult. Mosquitoes were a serious problem. There seemed to be no treatment, and we returned home with tons of bites that left us irritated and very uncomfortable. The resort has over 1,000 rooms, but there were at most 200 guests during our stay, and a large part of the property was closed off. It's sad, because this place has a lot of potential.

I've been coming since 2016, and this is my favorite destination. The beach is beautiful, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. I can't wait to come back on the 9th. I often travel alone and never feel unsafe, which matters a lot to me. I'm vegetarian, and they always try to make something for me, so I never go hungry. The bartenders are the best. Dany Gonzalez Manduca is always welcoming and does a great job helping us plan our upcoming vow renewal.
