The rooms are clean, there’s air conditioning, and breakfast is available and good. The staff are very friendly, and you can also eat at one of the many nearby restaurants. Prices are very low by European standards. Everything suited us well. If you want private accommodation in the city center as a way to experience Cuba, this place fits. If you expect a perfect hotel like those in Europe, you might prefer one of the newer city hotels, at the matching price of €100-120.

Angela, the owner, is lovely, and I felt right at home in this beautiful colonial-style house. The rooms are spacious, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. They also serve a spectacular continental breakfast with fresh tropical fruits and juices, omelets, and more. Thanks to all the staff. 100% recommended.

I’m Cuban and have rented places in Cuba for 12 years, and this was the worst house I’ve stayed in. The rooms were small and noisy at all hours, the bathroom was extremely uncomfortable, and the house was poorly managed. The location in Vedado is excellent, but given the other options nearby, the value for money was terrible. Prices were high, yet management was practically nonexistent. Rooms weren’t cleaned daily, beds weren’t made, and linens weren’t changed for days. The owner said that was normal even when paying €40. The house rules were numerous, with little privacy and few obligations toward guests. Visitors weren’t allowed, and after 9 PM the front door was locked, so we had to knock and wait. The owner and caretakers shouted at any time, adding to the noise. The landlady was rude and unprepared for the role. There was a strong smell of gas in the rooms facing west. The house looks beautiful from outside, and its location is the one positive thing I can mention. The kindness felt fake. Once the advance payment was taken, we felt forced to stay, even though the problems were clear after the first day. The place was noisy enough to make sleeping impossible. After two more nights, when we left, we found that a pair of shoes, a pair of jeans, and some lipsticks were missing from my makeup bag. There were several problems and even the police got involved. We chose to leave it alone to avoid criminal proceedings that could have made us miss our return flights. A house to avoid. I strongly do not recommend it. A very bad experience.
