Most rooms have no windows, which left mine dark and a bit scary. My room had a kitchen, but the sink didn't work and there was no detergent for washing dishes. The hotel itself is a nice complex with really big rooms, very close to Havana's historic center and the tourist sights. Breakfast was basic and low quality, with greasy omelettes and juices that tasted artificial. Staff helped when I asked, though they looked unhappy, and you have to request things or you get only the minimum. Don't exchange money at the hotel, they rip you off.

The tall doors, maybe four meters high, and small balcony made our room lovely. The bed and bath were good too. It's a very good hostal for exploring Habana Vieja, though WiFi cards cost a bit much. It may not be the best choice for eating fish.

In 1928 my grandfather came to Havana to help build a newspaper printing plant. He took his camera as he wandered around the city, and photographed the Catedral from Tejadillo Street.

The Capitolio is only a five-minute walk away. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. For Santa Maria beach, take bus A40, thank me later :)

They charged my credit card, but there was no room available. They offer you welcome drinks and then ask you to pay. Thieves. Don't go!
