El Candil Boutique Hotel

It was so easy to get to the waterfront and nearby sights from this hotel, just a short walk to the iconic Malecón. The neighborhood felt safe and welcoming, and there were great dining options at the hotel. The staff made the stay especially memorable. They shared local tips, arranged transportation, and made sure I felt looked after. Thanks so much to Rosabel ,Yanetxy, Guiomar Yaquelin ,Dagnay, Miguel, Giraldo, Nestor, Javier, Armando, & Jesus. The rooms each have their own charm, with tasteful decor that made mine feel like a cozy home away from home. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the calm, inviting atmosphere was a lovely break after exploring Havana. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly and the service was impeccable. They seemed to anticipate what I needed before I asked. I’d recommend this peaceful, stylish place for its service and location, and I can’t wait to come back.

We had to cancel our three-night stay at El Candil with very little notice, which was really disappointing. We were coming from the UK, so we don’t know when we’ll get another chance to visit, but if we do, we’ll stay at El Candil without hesitation. Even though we never made it there, Rosabel and Ernesto were incredibly understanding and helpful. The team had been responsive from the time we booked, and a few weeks before our trip Rosabel reached out on WhatsApp to ask if we needed help. She shared lots of information and arranged an airport taxi for us. It says a lot about the outstanding customer service and how brilliant the whole team is.

We stayed in the ground-floor suite, with its own entrance, and the maids left us a lovely note each day. The concierges were all great. We saw the most of Rosabella, who stayed late to welcome us when our plane was delayed and checked in regularly to see if everything was up to standard. The doorman and I had a great chat about Bob Marley. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel like family. It’s a charming little hotel in Vedado, and they really do treat guests like family.

We were there for a week in late November, and the staff kept the room very comfortable each day. The concierge team helped with dinner ideas and reservations, and we had the same taxi driver each night, which made getting around a city we didn’t know well easier. Several restaurants are within walking distance. We had a great stay and highly recommend the hotel.
