The bathroom smelled, there was no toilet seat, and one night I woke to find a cockroach at the sink. The bathroom is poorly designed too, with water pooling when you shower. Rooms weren’t cleaned regularly. Food was bad and basically the same each day. One evening they served scrambled eggs, rice, and pasta for dinner, while flies took over the desserts and salads. Most staff are nice, but some are rude. You also have to pay for wifi. I do NOT recommend this hotel.

The food was monotonous, and WiFi works like it does elsewhere in Cuba, you need to buy a card. The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. Xavier is extra. If you pay something 20 euros what can you expect for that money.

We used the large hotel’s outdoor patio in the evenings to get online. It’s an open area with a bar, and sometimes there’s nice live cuban music. The hotel is in Nueva Vedado, outside Havana’s tourist area, which at that time had more Cuban residents. Getting to the city center means taking public trasportations or a taxi. It’s about 1h and half wolking. Nearby there’s a place to change or withdraw money and an Etcsa shop to buy internet cards. The zoo and a few small food shops are not far away. Plaza de la liberacion is about a 20-minute walk.

Don’t travel to Cuba. It isn’t a safe place. All the Hotels belong to the communist party “GAESA”, the repression machine against their own people. Every dollar or euro spent at any of their Hotels contributes to the Cuban people’s long lasting repression and hunger. Stop supporting the DICTATORSHIP.

We were moved here from a casa particular because the Cuban government required it during the pandemic. It was a really awful stay. The rooms were dirty, the staff unfriendly, and the food terrible. The place felt like a prison. Do not go there.
