We booked through Expedia and handled the arrangements by emailing the residence on the Expedia site. I also organized a taxi to take us to the guest house. Instead, the driver brought us to another address, where we were told Yamila House was closed and we’d be staying somewhere else. We’d paid to stay at Yamila House, but were sent to a fourth-floor walk-up. The owners there didn’t speak English. After phone calls, some kind of backroom deal was made and our money was shifted from one place to another, while we lost the stay we had booked. I can’t say whether they usually cheat customers, but that’s what happened to us.
