I almost thought sleeping in the car would be better. I’ve stayed here before, so I knew what to expect, and it’s Cuba, where nothing is easy. Drink and food service seem to have improved, and some staff are nice, but others are completely clueless. The front desk people are nice, yet everything still becomes difficult. There’s no customer service culture, and they’re quick to say no. If you want a stress-free stay, book a resort and avoid the nonsense of dealing with an independent hotel in Cuba. I booked a superior room with one king bed and got a standard room with three beds instead. Kind of creepy. Avoid!

We had an upstairs room facing the road, and the traffic was very loud all night. The air conditioning worked really well, and the bathroom was well stocked. The hotel is smart, with some lovely rooms, and the staff were very good. There were several short power cuts when we arrived, but they handled them well.

I didn’t stay at this hotel, since I prefer RB&B whenever I visit Cuba. I did take this video from outside, though, and it might be helpful to someone.

The service was abysmal, and the toilet in our room wouldn’t flush. During our SKR tour, we found the noise made it impossible to sleep. The windows had no glazing and could only be shut with wooden shutters, so the mopeds and exhaust fumes came straight through at night. Rooms away from the street smelled moldy and were uninhabitable.

The location is good, and the hotel looks quite pretty, with nice rooms. But the service was deplorable, absolutely catastrophic. The staff were unpleasant and seemed to do everything they could to avoid doing anything. For the price, it was disappointing. Breakfast was bad, and I don’t recommend it.
