Meliá Santiago de Cuba

The food at the restaurant was good, and breakfast wasn't bad either. But the room AC wouldn't cool. They tried moving us three times, and none of the rooms had working AC. I hope melia sees this and gets it fixed. At least they could wash the eggs at breakfast, they were covered in chicken crap and looked really bad.

A good hotel option in Santiago when there aren't many places with electricity, but the AC is weak. The water is black, and be prepared for everyone to try to get money out of you.

My stay was unpleasant throughout, with a hostile attitude the whole time. There was a strong, unpleasant smell around the hotel, and I was disturbed by some of what was going on nearby, including prostitution in the lobby. I'm looking for a way to address these issues.

We love the Melia. The staff are kind and fabulous, and the rooms are pretty and comfortable. The hotel itself is lovely, with a huge, well-equipped pool and a beautiful lobby where you can have drinks or afternoon coffee. We stay there, and sometimes buy day passes when we're not guests so we can swim and have lunch.
