Ana and her son Jorge made us feel at home from the moment we arrived for our two-day stay. Their house in Casilda is beautiful, with a courtyard, pool, and roof terrace furnished with rocking chairs. It's just 2 km outside Trinidad, so it's a useful base for exploring the area, though Trinidad isn't an easy walk from there. We'd already visited the town, so the distance didn't bother us, but we did take off a star for it. We enjoyed both dinners in Trinidad after following Jorge's restaurant suggestions, and Ana also knows good places in the neighborhood. She doesn't serve dinner herself. Her breakfasts are generous and varied, and the coffee is delicious. Jorge has lots of excursion ideas, whether you go by yourself, with him, or through another tour operator. We hiked on our own to a waterfall at Topes de Collantes and joined Jorge for a Trinidad city tour. Both were great. We also made a short beach stop at La Batea rather than Ancón, to snorkel and see black coral. Colorful fish were visible right at the entrance.
