We had dinner here one evening, and the chef, an import from Mexico, clearly showed his touch in both the quality and presentation. Breakfast is ordered from a menu, with as many items as you like. We booked an upgraded room facing the view and got a spacious room with a large balcony and a stunning outlook. The bed was huge and comfortable. The room wasn’t dated, though it wasn’t exactly new either. The lobby is spacious, and the pool is well maintained.

We spent one night here in August 2025. The rooms could have been cleaner, though that felt expected for Cuba, so be prepared. The pool and breakfast were decent, nothing special but good enough. What I loved was the hacienda-style feel, like old Cuba, and the views over the city and hills. It’s a beautiful hotel, just a two-minute walk from Trinidad’s historic center. Still a lovely, atmospheric place close to everything in town.

We came to the hotel for the sunset view and hoped to stay for food and cocktails, ready to spend a good amount of euros. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, so after ten minutes we decided to leave. They also asked for five euros for WiFi. Never again.

The hilltop setting was one of the reasons we chose Mystique Trinidad La Popa for our wedding in March 2025. Views from around the hotel were breathtaking, and our sunset ceremony on the terrace had a magical backdrop. Our rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and had terraces with stunning views. We also loved being right in the heart of Trinidad, where guests could explore the historic city or relax by the pool and enjoy the bars. David and his team made the wedding day and our whole stay unforgettable. They handled every detail with care and professionalism, and their warmth made us feel special. The decoration was beautiful, the service was seamless, and the food was outstanding. Meals throughout our stay were delicious and varied, and the team took wonderful care of our vegan guests too. The service, food, decor, and atmosphere exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. We felt looked after from start to finish. Mystique Trinidad La Popa is a gem for a special occasion or a holiday. We’ll always cherish the memories and will definitely return for our anniversary.

The location is good, but the service was very poor. The staff didn’t listen or seem ready to help, and the facilities were in bad shape, with many things broken. The food wasn’t fresh, and breakfast had very little choice. I wouldn’t recommend it. It definitely isn’t a five-star hotel.
