The hotel felt festive, and I was really impressed by the daily shows, from dance and music to circus acts. Staff were amazing, and the food was surprisingly good for an all inclusive in Cuba. My room was clean and fully functional, even though the place is a bit old and needs renovations. I saw workers doing some of that during my April stay. I liked that it was smaller than other all inclusive resorts, which brought people together and made it easier to socialize. Turquesa is a good quality for the price if you don't need the biggest or most impressive place.

The party bar staff were friendly and great to talk with, and the beach is right beside the resort, so it's easy to get to. Beyond that, my stay was okay, but a few things stood out. The toilets barely flushed, and nothing seemed to clear properly, which left a terrible smell. I also didn't get a good feeling from the front desk employees. They were friendly enough, but rarely smiled and often seemed busy talking to each other or doing paperwork before acknowledging guests. The beds and rooms had bugs. I was bitten all over, and a few days into our stay the resort threw out all the mattresses and replaced them.

We really liked how easy it was to get around this small resort. The food had enough variety to try something different each meal, if you were willing to give new things a go, and the serving staff and cooks were friendly and attentive. Our room was cleaned every day, and we enjoyed the towel sculptures they left. When we arrived, the ladies at the front desk checked us in quickly. I asked for a nice ground-level room and we got 562, which was clean and cool. My wife and I had an amazing week there in November. Ronaldo, Mario, Isabel, and Nelson deserve a mention. They made us feel like the only guests they were looking after. We definitely want to return. We're already planning for the same week in 2019, this time for two weeks. Scott A

The resort is clean and has very friendly, helpful staff. The buffet team went above and beyond for our needs, the bar staff were outgoing and fantastic, and they made the best coffee. The cleaning staff were friendly too, always asking if we needed anything. Since the resort is on the smaller side, it feels more social. There was a different show each night and they were always a hit. The entertainment team also brought music and daily pool activities. We'd definitely stay again for the great staff and clean rooms. The food was what I expected in Cuba. I'd recommend the buffet grill. I was told spices are hard to find at Cuban resorts, so I brought a few small bottles. Someone also suggested bringing a "Big Bubba" to cut down on trips to the bar, and it had other benefits too. The front counter staff were very busy and each had specific jobs, which some impatient guests didn't seem to understand. One downside is that the rooms and resort don't look like the website photos, which show them as they were when new. The place is older now and needs cosmetic work and maintenance.

The staff were pleasant, happy, and accommodating, and the rooms were clean. The stay was comfortable and fairly worry-free. Food was okay, though as someone who's travelled a lot, I was a little disappointed. It wasn't bad, just nothing special. I might come back, but I wish some excursions had been included. We were given that impression and then had to pay for them. Havana is a long commute if it's on your agenda.
