The beach is good, the location is good, and the people working there are good too. The food was as bad as it gets by Cuba standards, and there were BED BUGS. Most of the time, the Wi-Fi signal was basically unusable. If it rains, expect leaks almost everywhere. Smoking isn’t allowed in the main lobby, even though that was one of the very few places with a good Wi-Fi signal. I couldn’t get any signal in my room, and the comfortable lobby chairs were off limits for smoking. Other areas either had uncomfortable chairs or no Wi-Fi. I’ve been to Cuba many times, and other hotels in a similar price range had Wi-Fi extenders around the property. They served smelly food. I was there with family, and one member didn’t notice one of the bad dishes and had a very enjoyable three-day stomachache. The drinks were another issue: good ones cost extra or weren’t available. There was no mint for six of seven days, even though mint grows everywhere. They could take our money, but even a little service seemed too much to ask. They wouldn’t leave drinkable water unless I asked. You can close your eyes and enjoy Cuba’s beautiful nature and warm people, but even if this stay were free, I wouldn’t want bed bugs or inedible food. I always bring spices and sauces to Cuba, but those wouldn’t fix this situation. I come to Cuba partly for its wonderful cigars, and this hotel didn’t even have a comfortable place where I could smoke and get Wi-Fi. Hope this helps you choose a hotel. Please bring bug spray.

The place wasn’t maintained even to motel standards. When it rained, leaks showed up almost everywhere, and there were BED BUGS. The Wi-Fi was unusable much of the time. My room had no signal, and although the lobby had a good connection and comfortable chairs, smoking wasn’t allowed there. I couldn’t smoke in the lobby, one of the few places with decent Wi-Fi, while the other areas had uncomfortable chairs or no signal. I’ve stayed in other Cuban hotels in a similar price range, and they had Wi-Fi extenders throughout. The beach is good, the location is good, and the staff are good too. The food was as bad as it gets by Cuba standards. They served smelly food, and one family member missed that a dish was bad and ended up with a very enjoyable three-day stomachache. I bring spices and sauces when I visit Cuba, but they couldn’t fix this food. Even if the stay were free, I wouldn’t put up with bed bugs or inedible meals. There was no mint for six out of seven days, even though mint grows everywhere. One of the main reasons I come to Cuba is for its wonderful cigars. You couldn’t smoke in the main lobby, and there was absolutely no Wi-Fi signal in my room. You can enjoy the beautiful nature and warm people elsewhere. Hope this helps with your hotel choice. Everyone was friendly, quick to anticipate what I needed, and gave me superb, personal service. Lizbeth (Guest relations manager), Yisell (Quality manager) and Dainerys at the front desk went above and beyond to make me comfortable and feel valued as a guest, not just a tourist. I’m grateful to them and all the staff. I’ve just returned from a magical week at Hotel Los Cactus, and it exceeded every expectation. It’s a real escape where the details are handled with warmth and precision. If you want a Cuban getaway to relax, recharge and be pampered, look no further. I’m already planning another trip. Thank you for a flawless vacation.

The rooms and service were the standout parts, and the rest was great too. I only thought the pool looked a bit small, but it was fine. Almost perfect.

Coming back here year after year feels like coming home. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make each trip feel like a little escape to paradise. There’s a lovely beach, a manageable sized property with different room options and locations, plenty of food choices, and lots of activities and entertainment. Already looking forward to my next visit!
