The restaurant food was decent, and the service staff there were nice. Still, for what we paid, the stay was disappointing. On two of our three days, the water was off for six hours at a time, which was a real hassle. I couldn't shower the first night or after horse riding the next day. The place also wasn't as clean as we'd expected. A homestay would have been a better choice than this state-run hotel.

The lobby bar's mojitos were fantastic, and the beer was properly cold. Our room had good air conditioning, plenty of hot water, and was nicely equipped. With two pools, two bars, and a very good restaurant, it made for a relaxing break during a hectic week in Cuba. The grounds and facilities were spotless. A real gem in Vinales Valley.

Ask for a receipt before paying for anything here. The pool security guy tried to charge me 2 bucks to get in, then I was charged 2 bucks for each beer. There wasn't a price menu, and I found out later the beers cost 1 dollar. Be careful around Cuba, people may see you as a wallet rather than a person. Please ask for receipts wherever you go.

I was disappointed with the quality here. The pool was dirty the whole time, and nobody seemed to care about cleaning it. The hotel is also a long way from the city centre, with a taxi costing about 8CUC. Better to get a casa particulares in the city centre.

The building's been redone, but not well enough for the price they're asking. Breakfast is limited, and, well, I saw one roach. Don't stay on a Saturday night either. The square right beside it pumps out seriously loud music, and even the locals don't seem to enjoy it. New place, still wanting.
