Apart Hotel Por do Sol

I’m writing this on our second to last night so I don’t forget. The balcony views are great, and the beach is literally seconds away. There are a few nice restaurants nearby too. The staff are lovely and always helpful. A special thank you to Sonia, who gave us really good recommendations for places around the island.

The rooms are large and clean, and the kitchen has all the utensils. The hotel is comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff and a cosy reception area. Breakfast was decent, with different coffees and teas, hot items like eggs, bacon, and sausage, plus cake, wafer, bread, jam, cereal, and yogurt. You can also ask for ham toast made to order. The pool is a decent size, but most of the tiles have fallen off, so it looks untidy. Be careful around the remaining tiles, their edges are sharp. I cut my foot on the sloping side. Across the street is a magnificent beach, though an abandoned old building spoils the view a bit. The hotel is somewhat out of the city centre, but it’s only a 10/15 min walk.

We really enjoyed staying here. The owner and staff did a great job helping us whenever we needed something. Breakfast was a highlight, and we liked how they adjusted a few steps in the process to make it more enjoyable.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and the facilities were amazing. It’s in a fantastic spot, just a short walk from the town centre and a few kilometres from the airport. A great place to stay for a trip to Boa Vista.
