Hotel Restaurant Falucho Paradise Beach

The restaurant was very good, with reasonable prices, and we really liked the food. You can ask for omelettes at breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. The pool was nice, too. The beach is lovely to look at, with big waves, though there's some trash on the sand, which isn't the hotel's fault. Rooms are old but very clean. Hot water comes and goes, so you have to figure out when it's available or you may end up with cold water. The reception staff don't speak English well, so a translation app helps. They offer a shuttle to and from Praia airport for 4000CVE (40€) one way. It's hard to take tours from here because nobody picks you up, so you have to get to Praia on your own first.

The manager was rude and arrogant toward her staff, and check-in took nearly half an hour. The rooms also didn't match what was booked. I reserved the first night by phone, then staff said Booking would be cheaper for the second night. It was almost half the price, but they couldn't explain the difference and refused to give me a partial refund.

The workers were all extremely friendly, and they even let us check out late. We had an amazing weekend with the family. The food was great, and the restaurant and beach area were so peaceful.

The staff were very friendly, and our room was spacious and exceptionally clean, though dated. The restaurant food was good, but many menu items weren't available. The hotel sits right on a good beach, but the beach is dirty; it's next to a town, too, though many buildings are decaying or unfinished. The pool needs work, and both the hotel and village need an overhaul before they can become a tourist destination. We give it a mixed mark, much like the positives and negatives that come through in other reviews.
