Hotel Oasis Belorizonte

We've been here for a few days and can speak to some of the concerns we saw in other reviews. The staff have been lovely, always smiling, and we've had no problems. There's plenty of space despite the hotel feeling quite full, and although people save pool spots despite the signs asking them not to, there are still places to sit. Wi-Fi works well. The four restaurants have good food, and there's always a snack available. We're in one of the newer street-facing bungalows, which feels nicely renovated. Housekeeping comes in the late morning, and we haven't had trouble getting towels. No bugs or mosquitoes in the room either. Some parts could use an update. You can tell which pool was built first. Still, I don't quite understand all the complaints. Maybe people expected more or have more experience with all-inclusive stays. We don't do them often, so we feel pretty pampered. I'm really happy we chose hotel Oasis Atlantico Belorizonte! There are four pools.

The location is a strong point: the beach and town are both close. If you're buying Coke, though, head to the main street in town. The shop by the beach exit can be very expensive. Cats wander around the resort pretty often, which I liked, though that's personal preference. I also heard the hotel just to the left, with the same owners, may be better, but it costs more and has five stars. I can't compare it myself since I didn't stay elsewhere. My stay at Oásis Atlantico Belorizonte felt average at best, and I don't think it merits four stars. The booking may not match what you reserved: a deluxe bungalow can apparently turn into a standard room in the main building. The room itself was ordinary, with an okay bed and tables, while the bathroom looked dated. The tub's silicone edging was worn. We also had bugs, including cockroaches and ants, and the ants even got onto the bed. There are two pools, both just okay, plus four restaurants and three bars. The buffet food was middling, though the seafood was pretty good. The Italian buffet and fish restaurant were among the options, and the a la carte meals were decent, but you don't choose your dishes there, you get a set menu. The bars use a Coca-Cola substitute, not the original, though drinks come in real glasses. English-speaking staff can be hard to communicate with. Some do speak English, but only a little, with exceptions. Even asking for free bottled water at the bar meant simplifying the question a lot, and I had the same experience with housekeeping. I'm not eager to return, though I could manage if I had to. It was mostly an average experience.

The beach club was the one part I really enjoyed. It was nicely set up. The all-inclusive stay at Oasis Atlantico Belorizonte otherwise left me disappointed. Restaurants keep set meal hours, so you can't eat whenever you like, although the bars stay open all the time. Lunch was good, but the food quality fell off a lot in the afternoon. There were staff around, but not enough control to keep things calm, and it felt noisy and chaotic. I also felt very uncomfortable with men around the hotel staring constantly and making inappropriate comments. It was disturbing. For a trip to Sal, I'd suggest Oasis Salinas Sea instead. I had a much better impression of it.

My bungalow's air conditioning was excellent, easy to program and surprisingly quiet. The staff also kept a precious belonging I'd left behind at checkout, and I was able to return and collect it untouched. We did have a few power supply shortages, but they didn't affect my stay. The hotel has a great range of food, drinks, and activities. It's near a lovely beach, with a lit boulevard making the walk into town easy. I'd recommend it for a relaxed all-inclusive holiday.
