Sakaroule Bed & Breakfast

The location was convenient for the center, restaurants and supermarkets, and self check-in was possible with the key left for us. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the simple breakfast came with delicious Cape Verde coffee. It was handy to be able to leave our things in a locked storage room after checkout. The bed wasn't very comfortable for me. There was no shower gel or anything similar, and when I asked, administrator Manu found me an old, broken piece of soap. I don't think that's acceptable even for a budget place. Also, administrator Manu seemed too insistent when offering an airport transfer.

Paola made us feel so welcome and shared lots of helpful tips for exploring the area. Sakaroule is a beautiful place, set among local homes and well away from the big resorts, but the beach and town center are still an easy walk away. Our room got pretty hot, though the fan made it manageable. We loved our stay and would book again if we return to Sal. Thanks, Paola!

We came to Santa Maria for a wingfoiling trip, and Sakaroule worked out really well. Ponta Leme, where we kept our gear, was about a 5-10 minute walk away. Paola was a great host, the house is lovely, and breakfast was just right for us. Our room was cleaned daily, too. There are local restaurants right next door, and it’s easy to get around Santa Maria on foot. Thanks again, Paola, we had a great time!

The rooms were spacious and well equipped, and we had a good shower with plenty of water despite the current water crisis in Sal. Breakfast was fresh and the price felt good for what we got. Paola was so warm and welcoming, and the staff were all friendly and professional. It’s close to everything and near the beach, but just outside the busy tourist area, among local residents. Paola also had brilliant suggestions for food and things to see in Santa Maria. We’d definitely book again if we come back to Sal!
