Baia Verde

We planned on spending two nights here, but ended up staying five because it's such a lovely spot by the beach. The owner has recently changed, so the bad reviews that reply don't apply anymore. The staff are warm and open, and everything was very clean and well managed. WiFi worked, and the locals are wonderful. There’s delicious local food in the neighborhood, along with lovely people and beautiful nature.

I loved hearing the waves as I fell asleep. My room was clean, the staff were really friendly, and the location couldn't have been better. I had a very nice stay.

We wanted somewhere right by the beach, and this is about as close as you can get. Breakfast is served on the top floor, with a view over the beach, lighthouse, and fishing boats. There was fresh papaya, home-grown passion fruit, omelettes made to order, coffee from the new machine, toast, and a panini maker. The WiFi signal was good, too. André, the new owner, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They even came down to the fishing boats in the morning to help us buy fish for an evening barbecue, and did most of the cooking. I agree with the earlier comment about the old reviews.

Be very careful here. When I came back to my room, things had been moved around, and I realized €500 was missing. At reception, they treated me like I was crazy when I said someone had taken it, called me a liar, and wouldn't have a proper conversation with me. The boss then insulted me, called me a drug addict, and made me out to be a bandit. This was after staff had offered me substances and drugs when I first arrived. If you stay here, keep your valuables with you when you leave the room.
