Blue View Apartments

We felt swindled and like we were camping indoors. This place was advertised on airbnb as a home in Westpunt hosted by Bianca, but the photos were false and left out important details. There was no TV, glass dining table, or oven as pictured. It was dirty and run down, next to a heavily trafficked, bad restaurant that also seemed to be theirs. The hot water lasted only 20 seconds before turning tepid. The floor was peeling, the balcony ceiling was low, and its odd fake-grass carpet was unpleasant. The tiny bathroom sink faucet shut off by itself after three seconds. Although AC was advertised, we were told to turn it completely off whenever we left for the day or we'd be fined $20 a day. The stove had only two burners and the old cooking supplies weren't things we'd want to use. If someone parked outside, they blocked our only entrance because the door swings outward. At check-in, the person giving us access demanded a photo of my passport and wanted me to write down my credit card details, which I refused. I later learned from airbnb that extra check-in requirements must be advertised and can't be sprung on guests. Something bit us in bed at night. There were many other things I could criticize. We worried that complaining would bring retaliation, as it apparently did to another person who posted on Google Maps. They said the owners blamed them for a water leak and demanded cash before checkout. Complaining on arrival also risked ruining the trip. There weren't comparable places to move to in the area, and we would have spent the vacation on the phone instead of enjoying the ocean. This place needs to be taken off airbnb.
