Nissi 49 Apartments

The bathroom flooded the apartment whenever we showered. Water wouldn't drain, leaving us splashing around in dirty water for our whole stay. We put towels at the bathroom door but they didn't stop the water, and after each shower we had to sweep it back, with little effect. The flooding also left a horrible smell throughout the apartment. There were lots of ants inside, and the utensils were dirty. The host didn't answer the phone, so after a long flight we waited hours just to check in. We booked for three people, but there were only two of each thing, including blankets and towels. The extra bed was useless and uncomfortable, even for a smaller woman. I wouldn't recommend booking this apartment if you want a more pleasant stay.

Lorenzo, the security caretaker, was so friendly and helped make our stay comfortable. The place was nicely furnished, and all the appliances and utilities worked fine. We loved sitting outside, and the location made things easy, with a supermarket and plenty of restaurants nearby and the strip and beach within walking distance. The main problem was arrival: we couldn't get hold of the owner for hours and had no way to access the keys.

We left almost immediately. The A/C didn't work, the room had no kitchen facilities like the photos showed, and the bedroom jacuzzi tub didn't make up for it. Getting in was a problem too: there was no check-in information, and the off-site manager wouldn't answer, so we had to ask the janitor, who was chain smoking and had no teeth. Outside, the dirty alley smelled of garbage and was full of flies. Disgusting. Expedia is responsible for letting this misleading listing stay up.

Update: the apartment manager has now moved us to the apartment above, which is much nicer. If the pests were dealt with and the damp smell fixed, I think the smaller place could be comfortable for a week. The original room was awful, with cockroaches and silverfish even on the bed, and flies everywhere. The so-called apartment felt like a shed down an alley. We paid extra for a jacuzzi, but it was basically a bath with stagnant water coming out of jets that didn't work. I drained it straight away and would rather sit in the salt water from Nissi beach. Management was useless and refused refunds for these disgusting rooms. I'd tell people to avoid them.
