Tofinis Hotel

Tofinis was better than I expected, even after reading the good reviews. We went in October, when it was warm and not too crowded, and for a family with young children this is the best place to stay in the area. The hotel is nice and has everything you need. Staff are friendly, and the food was better than I expected from a large all-inclusive. I hadn't been a fan of package holidays before this trip, but Tofinis changed my mind. It feels special, and we want to come back. The beach is the best part of its Ayia Napa location: golden sand slopes into warm, clear blue water, without stones or seaweed. There's easy access to water sports like jet skis, inflatables, and pedalos, plus bars and parasols. Walking to town along the beach takes about 15 minutes; roadside footpaths take a bit longer. The splash park is lots of fun, but the pools aren't heated, and the sea is much warmer. Activities are enjoyable and the team tries to keep things lively, though children's entertainment isn't this lovely resort's strongest feature. Poolside music is just right, not too loud or busy, and everyone enjoys it.

Pambo at reception and the night manager were brilliant when we lost four passports and all our cash getting off the airport bus. Pambo helped us work out how to travel to Nicosia for replacement passports and was so understanding. Much more help than our TUI rep, honestly. The hotel itself was spotless, and our huge fourth-floor family room had a lovely pool and sea view, with doors separating the bunk beds for our kids, 12 and 15, so it felt like two bedrooms. Reception, pool bar and restaurant staff were all great. There’s a shallow beach nearby and a bus stop outside for town or an easy, comfortable air-conditioned trip to Nicosia for 11 euros return, about an hour and a half. We didn’t see any litter. This place is fantastic, don’t let the fussy complaints put you off.

Seyam and Muhammad in the restaurant made our stay. They were lovely and hardworking, and always had our usual table ready for breakfast and dinner. We tipped them directly, but they weren’t allowed to keep it, even though no other staff served us. We understood they were told off for giving our kids attention, and the kids absolutely adored them. Seyam is leaving, so we probably won’t come back, though we’ll return to Cyprus next year, 2026, to meet them. The restaurant bosses always looked unhappy. There were ants coming from under the sink in our room, but we could manage that. The pools and water park were amazing, and the lifeguards reassured us correctly that our son wouldn’t need hospital care after bumping his eye. Food was okay, with plenty of options, including kids’ food and desserts.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is lovely and presentable with excellent all-inclusive service. My one real disappointment was the room cleaning. At a four-star place, I’d expect the bed to be made and the room tidied, especially after staying in lower-rated hotels that did that. They also charge for pool towels. Still, a lovely hotel.
