Mystery Garden Guest House

We had a lovely fish dinner on our first night, and breakfast was good too. The hosts, Tamer abi and Birsen abla, are lovely, and the kids enjoyed spending time with them in their beautiful garden. It was a good location and a rustic, authentic place to stay.

The garden is a beautiful spot to unwind, and one of the best-kept gardens I’ve seen. There are lovely works of art all around it, and Birsen makes wonderful homemade food. Tamer has amazing stories to share. With Tamer, Birsen and their daughter, you end up feeling like part of the family. The location is great too. I was sorry to leave!

The owners, a friendly couple, welcomed us warmly. It was easy to find, right at the edge of the port. Our room, bird of paradise, was on the small side, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Breakfast more than made up for it, with a delicious and interesting range of homemade delicacies.

Sorry it took me so long to write this. I thought I’d already done it. We have so many happy memories of Mystery Garden Guest House and its wonderful family, and honestly wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The care and warmth, especially towards our autistic daughter, were beyond words. Many thanks and love to the family. From, Sam, Wendy and Kirsty x The garden was a paradise, full of colourful flowers, plants and fruit trees, with a raised koi pond, tortoises, birds, ornaments and decorative pots. Each morning we had breakfast there and were treated like family. We also had a homemade kebab made for us by the daughter, and it was delicious. Our daughter really enjoyed it. We were greeted so warmly when my partner, our daughter and I arrived, then shown to our room. It was exceptional, honestly the best place we’ve stayed on all our holidays. The four-poster bed had white drapes and bedding with twinkling fairy lights, and the soft pillows had us asleep as soon as our heads touched them. My daughter slept exceptionally well too. The lounge was quaint and relaxing. The bathroom was spotless, with fresh white towels each day and a lovely powerful hot shower. We had our own little gated courtyard with a picnic table. It felt so safe that we never shut the door during the day while exploring. If we got back late, it would be closed for us as the sun went down. We were advised to keep the door and windows shut in the evening because of mosquitoes, though I can truthfully say we didn’t see any. There’s air-conditioning for warm weather, heat if it gets chilly, and a lovely blanket on the beds if needed. My review showed 5/5, but I’d like to change that to 10 plus/10.
