Vuni Palace Hotel

The pool, beach area, and cleaning staff were pleasant, but the rest of our two-week September stay at Vouni Palace Hotel left us disappointed. Our small, dated room was poorly maintained: the shower leaked every day, the toilet ran all night, and there weren't proper facilities for making tea or coffee. Reception staff were often rude and unhelpful. Meals were poor and repetitive, with the same limited choices each day, while drinks cost too much. The service and standard fell well short of what the hotel advertises. It's sold as five-star, but nowhere near that level in reality. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We only came to the beach, not the hotel, and the service was fantastic. The waiters regularly came by to take our orders for drinks and snacks. The sea was so clear that tiny fish were visible in the shallows, while farther out the fish were much bigger. Highly recommend it. We'll definitely come back. 10 out of 10.

The private mini beach was a highlight for us, along with the extra paved sunbathing area and direct access to the Mediterranean sea. We made good use of it several times. There's also a big pool with lots of sun beds and a bar for drinks. A shuttle "train" goes to and from the town centre a couple of times daily. We walked there instead, about 1.5 miles, though the route runs past apartments and hotels with no sea access or coastal path. Our room was large and comfortable, with fruit and bottled water waiting on arrival. Some in our group had noisy neighbours, but we didn't have any trouble. The hotel itself is large and feels impersonal, and the front desk staff came across that way too. Meals were buffet style, and the restaurant got crowded at the start of each one. Staff kept the dishes stocked, the menu changed several times, and cooks prepared things like omelettes at breakfast. The food was pretty standard for a holiday hotel. Drinks were ordered at the table and brought over from the bar by very efficient staff. We had a very enjoyable week at the Vuni.

The broken safety lock and the so-called "suite" summed up our stay: it was one larger room split by a wall, looking out onto trash next door. The beach is rocky and hard to swim from. Staff were arrogant and inattentive, seeming not to care even when concerns or complaints were raised. They were poorly trained, probably seasonal workers, and spoke poor English. Don't waste your money or time here. I would not choose this place. It caters to families from Turkey who could not afford more.
