The only thing this place had going for it was the location, just a two-minute walk from the beach. We booked all three rooms for two nights through Airbnb at a very cheap price, but it wasn’t worth it. The listing didn’t say the kitchen and bathroom were shared, so if we hadn’t booked every room, we might have ended up sharing with strangers. The photos are misleading and probably at least five years old. The building and rooms are in disrepair, with lots of broken furniture. One bedroom was tiny and had no windows; another had only blinds that let in the light, and the curtains in the other room were broken. The mattress was too big for its bed frame, and many wardrobe mirrors were cracked. The living room air conditioning didn’t work, while another unit leaked all over the cabinets and under the bed after we left it running for two hours. Outside, the chairs were broken and the sunshade was ripped. The shared bathroom had no door, so water got all over the floor. There was no hot water, and the kitchen taps leaked. At first we couldn’t get in because we hadn’t been given the keysafe codes. We called support, and a man came about 30 minutes later to open them. We still weren’t given the codes, so at checkout we had nowhere to leave the keys. The lift was very old and a bit scary to use.
The only good thing was being close to the beach, which gave us a reason to get out of the room. It was filthy, smelled of cigarettes, and felt like a hostel horror movie. Everything seemed old, broken or damaged, and the place smelled bad. I’m glad we were only staying overnight.
We never even got to see the room, and the building looked like something from a horror movie. After a long day of travelling, we hoped to get some rest, but we were left out on the street after 2 am because the owner hadn’t put the key in the safe box. My husband and I called the supposed “24 hours support” ten times and only got a message that the number was out of service. The owner replied the next day. Be careful with this seller. Disgusting experience, terrible owner and building. Never book here.
The keysafe was in the wrong place and wouldn’t open. The balcony sunshade is in tatters, and the door frame is damaged, as if the door had been kicked in before. There was no hot water in the shower, and I shared a room with a cockroach. The outside of the building needs repairs too. I’m also unsure whether fire regulations have been followed in the building, especially in the extra room with no windows. There’s a gap in the stud wall that lets light through. Don’t stay here!
The view of the eastern beach was lovely, and most nearby attractions were just a three-minute walk away. But the apartment had almost no working appliances or service. The WiFi didn’t work for the whole stay. The owners waited all day to “fix” it, and it stopped working again straight away. There was no working air conditioning either, so we had to open every window to keep from burning up. That let in mosquitoes and loud club music from next door, which went on until 2 or 3 am. If they ever fix the appliances, it could be 5 out of 5. For now, expect to be hot and lose sleep, even with that picturesque view.
