Maryam's 2-BR Apt. With Pool & Balcony in Larnaca

I’ve never had a worse accommodation experience. The room door wouldn’t shut properly, the bathroom was extremely dirty and in very poor shape, and the bed squeaked. There wasn’t any kitchenware, and I could hear every noise outside the room. The cleaning staff were incredibly loud in the rooms and hallways, banging and shouting while we were trying to sleep. For what we paid, you can definitely find somewhere much cleaner, with decent furniture and proper conditions for a comfortable stay. A really bad experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location was handy, close to the city centre. But we booked Luxury City Rooms Larnaca expecting somewhere safe and comfortable, and had several serious problems. Our first room had no balcony despite what we’d booked. In the next room, the doors could be opened even when locked, and the balcony door couldn’t be locked at all. The shared kitchen had ants and poor hygiene. Food we’d put in a closed bag was stolen from the shared fridge. One night, a man was sleeping on the floor in the shared living room. On another, we were woken after midnight by aggressive knocking and demands that we change rooms again. We felt completely unsafe and left early, paying for new accommodation ourselves. When we reported what happened, the property only said, “We will inform our authorities,” repeating it several times without taking real action. Booking.com tried to reach them too, but they ignored all communication. The place was completely unprofessional, unsafe, and not as described. Avoid it at all costs!

I stayed in a separate room, which was very convenient. The bathroom was fairly clean, and the kitchen was comfortable to use. There are two balconies where you can have your morning coffee. It’s not in the city center, but you can still walk there in about 25-30 minutes. The check-in instructions could be clearer. I also had trouble charging my phone because the sockets are different from those in other EU countries.

We’d told the host we would arrive late, but the room was filthy and the host was no help. They said every other room was taken and cleaners would come in the morning. Where were we supposed to sleep until then? After we complained to booking.com, the host suddenly offered a different room and changed their story. Absolutely ridiculous. Please don’t make our mistake and give these people your money, they don’t care about their guests. We left that same night and found somewhere else at 2am. We’re being refused a refund because the host told booking.com they had offered us another room. By then, we had no reason to trust them. There was no reasonable explanation for what happened.
